Our Vale dos Deuses Trekking Expedition in Rio de Janeiro, will take you to the Três Picos State Park in Nova Friburgo-RJ is one of those places that a lot of people have heard about, but actually, because of its more famous neighbor, the Serra dos Orgãos, ends up being forgotten. But due to its comfort lodge located right in the middle of the mountains we visit, and the high quality of the hikes and landscapes, it becomes a very interesting alternative if you are an outdoor enthusiast who also enjoys a little comfort.

As it brings together trekking in beautiful landscapes and isolation, it is an excellent option for those looking for peace and interaction with nature.

There are 2 trails that we visit during our stay, that lead to 2 different peaks: the Cabeça de Dragão – Dragon`s Head (2018m) and the Caixa de Fósforo – Matchbox (1791m).

Best Season: Between May and September.

Tour Program – Day 1

• Pick-up time: 06:00 am
• Distance: 170 km
• Trip Duration: 3hs 20min
• Total trek: 13 km.
• Transfer from Rio de Janeiro to Três Picos State park.
• Around 9 am, stop for breakfast at a bakery store.
• Arriving around 10:30 am to Visit the Cachoeira dos Frades (Frades Falls), at 1200 meters of altitude, then we hit the dirt for 7 km until we reach the Fazenda Itatiba, where the Mineral water of Petropolis is made. Once there, we park the vehicles and hike for about 4 km to the summit of Caixa de Fosforo (matchbox) Mountain, at 1803 meters of altitude.
• Then for 3 km we hike through the park trail until we reach the Vale dos Deuses (Valley of the Gods). We have a quick trail lunch at Vale dos Deuses, then hike for another 5 km to the Lodge,  descending around 500 meters of altitude and arriving there around 04:00 pm.
• At night, 07:00 pm, homemade pizza at the lodge and 1 homemade beer included.
  
  

Tour Program – Day 2

• Total Trek:  14 km
• Breakfast at 06:30 am.
• Trek to Cabeça do Dragão (Dragon`s Head) at 2082 meters of altitude, with a stop at Vale dos Deuses + trail to Vale dos Frades, a trail lunch around 12:00/13:00 pm, until we reach the vehicles at Fazenda Itatiba at 03:00/04:00 pm.
• Transfer back to Rio de Janeiro arriving  there around 07:00 pm.
