You cannot visit our city without doing the Pedra Bonita Hiking Tour in Rio de Janeiro. Pedra Bonita is a hidden gem, towering above the forest of Tijuca National Park and offering a bird’s eye view across the city. It stands at 696 meters (2,283) feet, and lies between the neighborhoods of São Conrado and Barra da Tijuca. The views from the top are exceptionally breathtaking, and the trail is considered to be easy for regular hikers.

From the summit, the west side of the city can be seen spread-out beneath, along with most of the Zona Sul (South Zone), Pedra da Gávea , São Conrado beach and even the statue of Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) in the distance. The name Pedra Bonita means Beautiful Stone in portuguese, and it is related to the wonderful views the mountain offers from its summit. It was given by farmers who owned the lands around the mountain, back in the 16th century.

Tour Program

• Tour starts with hotel pick up at 08:00 am. In summer we do it at 7:00 due to the heat. We head out to the Tijuca Forest National Park, where the tour begins.
• We Start the trail at the sector C of the Tijuca Forest national park, and within 45 minutes, we reach the summit. Once there we spend about 30 to 45 minutes before going back to the beginning of the trail.
