The Petropolis City Tour is the perfect side trip for those who wish to know a bit more about the brazilian history and the imperial times. Located between the forested hills of the Serra dos Órgãos, Petrópolis, the imperial city, is a very well known winter holiday spot. The city has an appealing weather and esquisite landscape, besides many cultural and natural attractions.
In our Petropolis City Tour , we visit the Summer Palace of the second Brazilian emperor, which is now the Imperial Museum, specializing in Imperial history and memorabilia. We also pass by Dummont`s house, quick visit from outside. For many people around the world, this important brazilian figure is considered to be the inventor of the airplane. There is also a stop is at the Gothic Cathedral, where Princess Isabel, D. Pedro II and the queen were buried. We also visit the Crystal Palace, built in France and assembled in Brazil, destined to receive exhibitions and fancy imperial balls, promoted by Princess Isabel. We get to visit the Casa de Chocolate Katz, a local chocolate store and factory, as well as the Casa do Alemão, a German food store, very tradicional in Petrópolis. Tour also passes by Quitantinha Palace, once the most famous Hotel Cassino in Brazil. Do not miss this tour !
Tour Program:
Tour starts with hotel pick ups in Rio city, from 07:00 am to 8:00am, then we head out towards Petropolis city.
Once we arrive there ,we visit the house of Santos Dummont (outside), the Gothic Cathedral of São Pedro ( Saint Peter), the Imperial Museum, the Crystal Palace, Chocolate factory, Casa do Alemão (German food store) and Hotel Quitandinha
Time for lunch also included in the tour duration.
We are back in Rio city around 7:00pm, according to traffic.

This option is a group tour done in minibusses or buses and take around 12 hours round trip as we have to pick up and drop off our clients at their hotels in Rio

R$ 499,00 per person – Groups from 02 to 06 people

Pick up and drop off included in the south and downtown areas.
Food and beverages at the German food store are not included.

We will look and wait for clients for only 5 minutes outside their hotels. If they do not show up we have to leave as others will be waiting in our bus. We will not be able to offer refunds in case of No Show.
