Rio Adventures - Booking Procedures:

Due to the high volumes of tours we have, and because of our limitations in terms of capacity, we strongly suggest our clients to book tours ahead of time. The best way to do it is when you are still overseas, using Paypal

For security purposes, Paypal blocks your payment when you try to use your credit card outside your country, so that is also why we suggest that payments should be done previously, before your trip to Brazil.

We require a 50% deposit, paid thru Paypal. After you choose  the tours you wish to do, as well as dates, simply send us an email requesting availability. Please send along  your full name, number of participants and pick up address. We will send you a link to Paypal, and after you click on it, you will be directed to its page, where you can safely make your payment.

On the invoice, it will displayed all information regarding your tour, such as date, pick up time, number of participants, duration, prices and anything else we may judge necessary. As soon as you make the payment, we will receive a message from Paypal. After you get the receipt, consider yourself booked. As easy as that. You may print the receipt, which works as a voucher, but there is no need to show it to us on tour date, since we have all info we need about you, such as pick up address, # of participants, names and else.

Tour Cancellation and Refund Policy:

A tour in Rio requires some advance planning and it is unlikely that we can use our vehicles, or hire our guides to do other tours as a result of a short notice cancellation.   We will make everything within our reach to accommodate changes in your travel plans, but please understand that by canceling a reservation, you are preventing others from making reservations in the same tours, as well as preventing us from using our vehicles and equipment in other activities.  Once you book a tour with us and since we work under request, guides, vehicles and equipment are reserved specifically for your tour. A late cancellation means that everything that was reserved for your tour, can not even be used by another group, due to the short notice cancellation. Yet, we have developed a deposit and refund policy that we hope you will think it  is fair. Basically, the sooner you book and cancel the tour, the more you receive back as refund*.

* Please note that after 60 days of your payment, paypal cancel the refund option. After that, the act of paying back our clients become just a regular payment procedure for Paypal, and for that, they charge a 15% comission from us.

Extraordinary Cases: In case we are not able to collect the deposit before the tour date, due to a late reservation (reservations done after 8 pm), we will always contact our client at least one hour before schedule, to reconfirm the pick up. After the final confirmation, if there is any cancellation or no show, we will charge  50% of tour price, to cover our costs for sending guides, vehicles and equipment to client`s pick up location.

Tour Date Changes and Refund Policy:

After payment has been made, If you wish to change the tour to another day, you are free of charge, as long as you request it no later than 48 hours before schedule, until noon.

In case you request it in less than the 48 hours limit, we charge a fee of 25% the tour price  to reschedule it. We do that because our tours are done upon request, so once you book it, we reserve a guide, a vehicle and gear (when needed), for that specific tour.

In case tours are booked and deposit was paid within 48 hours before schedule, we also charge 25% the tour price in case of date change.

You may use the payment made as credit, for future activities, as long as you use it within 3 months after payment was made, and request it within 48 hours or more, prior to tour date. In  case you request it any later than 48 hours, the 25% fee will also be applied.

If there is any problem that may prevent us from operating the tour (bad weather, floods, storms) we refund you everything that was paid minus 15%, if payment was done through paypal more than 2 months before tour schedule. If payment was made within 2 months or less, we refund 100% of what was paid. If payment was done is cash, we refund 100% of what was  paid as well.

Please note that in certain activities, such as white water rafting, cascading and bodyboarding lessons, rain is not really an issue unless it is followed by a very strong wind or if it rains very heavily. We do not issue full refund based on the client`s assumption that the weather is not proper for the tour. If the client claims full refund based on that, we have the right to decline it and refund only the amount displayed in our booking and cancellation procedures window above. We will apply the proper refund percentage, based on the date he or she requested it.
