Rio de Janeiro is a wonderful city. In fact, it`s one of the most beautiful and fun cities on earth. Carnival, breathtaking beaches, forests, magnificent architecture, excellent restaurants and night life are here, waiting to be enjoyed.
But besides all that, what most people don`t realize, is that the city has a great potential when it comes to outdoor activities. And instead of just visiting it, tourists can interact with nature, whether it`s hiking, jeep riding in Tijuca forest or hang gliding.
And within a 2 hour drive from the city, around the state of Rio de Janeiro, one can also choose from many different options of adventures, such as rafting, scuba diving or exciting sidetrips.

A bit of us
Rio Adventures is an adventure tour operator that has been stablished in Rio since 2001, managed by a team of "locals" that know exactly what travellers and outdoor enthusiasts are looking for, when coming to Rio. We are indeed focused in outdoor activities, adventure sports and ecotourism. But we also provide the regular and most common tours, to places such as Sugar Loaf, Corcovado and other tour spots.It is just a matter of choice. You may choose to go up to Sugarloaf by cablecar, no problem in that, we will surely take you up there. But  we will be very pleased  if you decide to get up there by walking, or even rock climbing. Our philosophy - which really defines us for what we are as a company and who we are as employees - is to offer you a different approach, a particular way to see our city, through our eyes. Once we have accomplished  that, we will consider our mission done.

Booking a Tour
Rio Adventures provides the easiest way of booking a tour in Rio. While most operators require that you call during office hours ( from 9 am to 5 pm)and work with regular schedules, we allow our customers to call our after hour numbers from 8 am to 10 pm, and work under request only. Payments with credit cards must be made thru Paypal only, and can not be made if the customer is already in Brazil, since Paypal blocks payments done here, with cards issued outside Brazil, for security purposes. For that matter,  we strongly suggest that payments should be done before your arrival.

Tour Schedules
In general, activities start either from 7 am to 9 am in the morning, or from 1 pm to 2 pm in the afternoon. Some activities like scuba diving, require earlier starts around 6 am, due to the distance of the scuba diving area from Rio. Because most of the activities are done outdoors, every now and then we have to change schedules, according to weather conditions. In those cases, flexibility is crucial, so we kindly suggest our customers to reserve not only one day, but two or three days in their schedules, to do the activities that they have purchased, in case we can`t make it happen in the first day.
